About Me.

     My name is Makayla Hanley I am a 3D Animator, who has worked on a few short films during my education at SCAD.

 

     I grew up watching many channels That featured animated programs but Cartoon Network was my favorite but on June 17 2009 Cartoon Network launched CN real, where they stopped producing as many cartoons and instead focused on live action production. My little heart was shattered. But the cartoon drought would end in 2010 with the airing of adventure time. Finally cartoons were back, it was then that It clicked for me that people made the cartoons that I enjoyed watching, so it was then that I decided to work towards being an animator 

 

    At the time I had limited resources, all I knew was that animators had to be really good at drawing. So it was at that time that I became “serious” about learning how to draw. Even though I ended up not studying 2d animation, my drawing skills have taken me so far. They continue to help me today in prop design, storyboarding, and character design. I'm so glad I started my drawing journey so long ago. 

 

    It's my goal to continue teaching myself more skills needed to tell great stories. I'm still interested in 2d animation and with the current 2d rig technology I won't have to draw every single frame! I'm currently working on the short film pretty kitty which is a Hybrid film that incorporates multiple animation techniques.
